How does GitHub actions work?

GitHub Actions checks the runner group to see if your repository is authorized to send jobs to the runner. The job runs on the next available instance of the ubuntu-20.04-16core runner. Note: Autoscaling is only available for larger runners with Linux or Windows operating systems. Larger runners can automatically scale to suit your needs.

How do GitHub actions work with a runner?

The runners have been assigned the label ubuntu-20.04-16core. Workflow jobs use the ubuntu-20.04-16core label in their runs-on key to indicate the type of runner they need to execute the job. GitHub Actions checks the runner group to see if your repository is authorized to send jobs to the runner.

What is a GPU runner?

GPU runners empower teams working with models such as large language models (LLMs) to run these more efficiently as part of their CI/CD process, empowering teams to do complete application testing, including the ML components, in Actions.

How does GitHub work?

GitHub provides Linux, Windows, and macOS virtual machines to run your workflows, or you can host your own self-hosted runners in your own data center or cloud infrastructure. You can configure a GitHub Actions workflow to be triggered when an event occurs in your repository, such as a pull request being opened or an issue being created.
